Alexa grew up in Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island, where her aspirations to become a physiotherapist developed while she was a high school athlete receiving treatment from Manitoulin Physio Centre. She began her education to fulfil this dream at Brock University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2017. She then acquired her Masters of Physical Therapy degree at Western University in 2019. Throughout her six years of University, she has spent three summers working at Manitoulin Physio Centre in a student position, and is excited to have the opportunity to return to MPC to begin her career.
Alexa’s areas of interest for her career are vestibular and concussion rehab, persistent pain treatment, and Contemporary Medical Acupuncture. Alexa has a passion for the outdoors, and enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, downhill skiing, playing hockey and baseball, and spending time around a campfire with family and friends. She is looking forward to taking advantage of all of the volunteer opportunities Manitoulin has to offer, especially continuing to be involved in Manitoulin Special Olympics.
