Waase Migwans is a local islander. She was raised in M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. Waase has spent most of her time in M’Chigeeng First Nation, and moved away to Barrie, Ontario to obtain her advanced diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Administration. Through college, Waase also had the great opportunity to move to Jasper, Alberta for a school co-op work placement. Waase loved the mountains and the small town of Jasper that reminded her of the small town that she grew up in back on Manitoulin Island.
Waase has a few various hobbies and activities that she enjoys to part take in which include; skiing, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, and hockey. She will take up any opportunity that she can to be outdoors.
